People across the nation set goals to lose weight with last year’s resolutions but fell just short of accomplishment through the lack of on-going commitment. Now the slate has been wiped clean thus making room for a fresh start. This year, take full advantage of the fresh start and stay on track to reach the body that you always wanted. The following are some Team Fitness America tips to stick to the plan this year and finally make a real difference without having to repeat the same goals next year. </p>
<p>Set a goal. </p>
<p>Set a measurable, attainable goal and pick a realistic time frame thus making it manageable and conquerable. A lot of us go wrong by saying “I want to lose 100 lbs in a year”. That goal is simply too broad and that time frame is way too long. Instead, make it manageable and more rewarding while not making it a mentally draining experience. Some of the best goals are set in three-month time periods with goals such as to lose 10 lbs or possibly get into a smaller size of jeans. Maybe you are training for an event and you want to shave a few seconds off your running time. Whatever your goal might be, keep it short and realistic. Remember you can add another three-month goal after you hit the first one. </p>
<p>Write it down. </p>
<p>Goals that we can see in ink, we can make happen. Write it down in black ink and post it in a place where you will see it every day. This will help remind yourself “to stick to it” when you start to feel like you are losing sight of that goal. Many people who reach their goals successfully will stick their goal sheet in a place where they know they are going to see it on a regular basis. Places such as the bathroom mirror, refrigerator, on the back of the front door so that they see it before they go about their day, or even on their office desk. These are just reminders before, during, and after our day. Add it to your calendar of events to check in each week, make sure you see your goal, and truly know that it is there.       </p>
<p>Take a before picture and visualize the goal. </p>
<p>Taking a picture of yourself before you start losing weight is an excellent motivator. Once you start to see results and feel better, you can look back at that point and see where your muscles are forming while your love handles are whittling away. A visual picture of your results sometimes is the best motivator for sticking to your goal. Moreover, once you start getting compliments on how great you look, you can see how different your body looks and feels. Visualize shedding pounds and mentally become one with your goals. Close your eyes and imagine what you would look like once you have reached your fitness goals and how great you feel as you fit into clothes that you never thought you would again. Research has proven that if you concentrate on thinking about your goal and visualize, it will happen because of the energy you put into wanting it to happen. The more you think about the end result, the quicker and easier the goal becomes. </p>
<p>Keep a food journal. </p>
<p>Creating the ability to see what you actually ate compared to what you thought you ate helps cut back on overeating and binging. Find a place in your journal to put your moods before, during, and after a meal sitting. Break the pattern of eating when you are bored, sad, or even mad instead of actual hunger with the true realization of why you are eating what you are eating. Learning what emotions you control through comfort eating will help you to eat less and make more healthy choices. In addition, sometimes we will eat something bad, perhaps a doughnut early in the day, then decide that we ruined the whole day’s diet. This normally makes us feel like we should just eat poorly all day because it really will not matter from that point on. One doughnut does not ruin your diet. Visually seeing what you ate and when you ate it, will help you build better food choices and nutritional decisions throughout your day. </p>
<p>Hire an in home personal fitness trainer. </p>
<p>A personal trainer can motivate and direct you on which exercises to do for your specific body type and goals. A 300 pound, 6’5 male will have different exercises and dietary needs than a 200 lb, 5’5 female even if they both share a common goal of weight loss. A professional fitness trainer will develop a plan of attack against your unwanted pounds and provide a routine that you can do even when they are not there. This will keep you motivated, on track, and hold you personally accountable for the exercise portion of your goal. Some people will say, “I do not need a personal trainer because I can do this myself”. The reality is you have been saying that for years and probably still have the same weight loss goals that you might have had ten years ago. Would you try to do your taxes without some form of help? Probably not, you would consult with a professional on the steps to take and which forms to use. A professional fitness specialist can take into consideration your eating habits, working habits, health issues and limitations, and design a custom program tailored to your unique body type and design.     </p>
<p>Plan your workouts into your day. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As a component of workplace-wellness programs, few massage therapists have specialized methodologies for taking massage onsite into workplaces to reduce depression. With the number of staff at most manufacturing and processing facilities shrinking over the last decade many workers have seen their duties and expectations grow, increasing the propensity of depression. Weekly massage allowed works to experience less overwhelming from an intensive or stressful workload.</p>
<p>Massage therapy will be offered by more than ten percent of all companies by 2012 according to a new survey conducted by the manufacturing marketing research division of TR Cutler, Inc., in a national survey of more than one hundred thirty one U.S. manufacturers; all show that massage improved bottom line of employers by reducing workplace depression. The study found that after twelve weeks, 269 employees who had once-weekly, 45-minute massages in the manufacturing workplace had dramatically better productivity and reduced depression than a control group of 250 employees who did not receive the massage therapy. The massage recipients verbally reported they were less fatigued and more clear-headed and less depressed to a statistically significant finding.</p>
<p>This overtaxed workforce lack the intimate knowledge of the processes.  Instead automation processes are monitored to allow them to take consistently effective and timely corrective action when presented with unusual conditions during their data collection and observation rounds.  Manufacturing companies take full advantage of their human capital to keep things running smoothly and profitably. Providing front-line workers with training and reference materials representing the accumulated best practices of the organization is one way to impart the knowledge needed to take the best actions in the field. Front-line plant floor workers by definition do not typically sit behind a desk. To be effective they need the ability to react appropriately as they perform their rounds in the field, without relying on supervisors and desk-bound reference documents to assist in their decision-making process.</p>
<p>Nearly three-fourths (74%) of manufacturing workers reported in a national survey that their job is very stressful and leading to a periodic depression. </p>

So you call your doctor, who in turn sends you over to the lab, where they unceremoniously take 20 milliliters (ml) of bright, red blood. As your arm starts to hurt on the way home you wonder whether it was all worth it. After all, maybe not knowing that eating your beloved sausage and eggs, cooked in high saturated fat  butter, is bad for the normal range of cholesterol levels would have been a better plan.</p>
<p>After a few days you get a call from your doctor’s office, wanting to talk to you about your cholesterol. So you march right over and are ushered into a the waiting room, where your doc is waiting. He says “Jim, I am looking at your numbers and what have you been eating every meal, sausage  and eggs cooked in 37% saturated fat butter?”. You look at the doc in disbelief, and wonder whether you have mistakenly gone to a the earthly headquarters of the local psychic.</p>
<p>Your doctor explains the numbers starting with total cholesterol of 320, and move on to some strange terms such as LDL levels of 200 and HDL levels of 40. He goes on to explain that normal desirable  levels of cholesterol are around 200 mg/dl, which means you should have 200 milligrams of total cholesterol in every deciliter (1/16 liter) of blood. Optimal levels of LDL or bad cholesterol should be about 100 mg/dl, and a good reading for helpful HDL cholesterol should be about 55 or 60 mg/dl. He goes on to say that these reading are not even close to being in a normal range of cholesterol levels and put you in the high risk category for heart attack or stroke. He then gives you a preprinted list of low cholesterol foods and warns that if we can’t get this under control through diet then we will have to consider a statin medication to rapidly bring these dangerous numbers down.</p>
<p>As you are driving home your head is spinning and thoughts are racing through your head about that silly list of low cholesterol foods filled with no fat and low fat choices. Give up ice cream and butter for fruit and margarines containing stanols and sterols! I don’t think so. Not in this lifetime! There has to be another way to bring my readings down into a normal range of cholesterol levels.</p>
<p>The next day you wake up with a better attitude, and decide to try some of these low cholesterol foods, after all no one wants to have a heart attack or stroke.</p>
<p>What Next? Achieving a normal range for cholesterol levels, in most cases, is about changing old habits, adopting new healthier habits, and enlisting the help of convention medications such as statins or <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://purchaseremedies.com/Cholesterol.html">natural cholesterol reducing remedies </a>if needed. Could it be those extra pounds I have put on or perhaps my new love for those beefy fast food burgers? You decide to measure your waistline, only to find the unbelievable number of 45 inches across at the hips. You reflect back to your high school days when you had that lean 30 inch waistline, and then you quickly come back to reality. You then remember  reading an article about being overweight and the health risks, including high cholesterol. You seem to recall reading something about abdominal obesity being particularly dangerous because it leads to resistance to the actions of insulin, which in turn elevates blood levels of insulin, and is associated with high triglycerides and low HDL (good cholesterol) readings. That’s right! A waist circumference of greater than 40 inches in men or 35 inches in women indicates abdominal obesity and a heightened risk of high cholesterol and coronary artery disease. Oh my, what to do now.</p>
<p>What you will find is that by reducing cholesterol levels through making changes in the types of food you consume not only will lower your cholesterol levels but your waistline just might start shrinking as well. In the United States, 1 million men suffer from eating disorders with less than fifty percent reporting a cure. For those who survive anorexia, the majority will suffer irreversible bone loss, with men being most vulnerable. Bulimics can develop liver, kidney and bowel damage from binging and purging. Heart irregularities and sometimes cardiac arrest can result from both disorders.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Certainly there are plenty of low cholesterol diets claiming to have the secret to lowering cholesterol. But when you get right down to it controlling cholesterol is about reducing the consumption of saturated fat and trans fatty acids.</p>
<p>Saturated fats: By now most people have heard of saturated fats and realize they should be avoided, or at the very least dramatically reduced,  as part of any heart healthy diet. Fats that are solid at room temperature consist mainly of saturated fat. Marbled meats, duck, poultry skin, butter, and cream are loaded with artery clogging saturated fats and should not be a part of low cholesterol diets. The amount of saturated fat consumed can be more dangerous to blood cholesterol levels than cholesterol in foods such as egg yolks. Additionally, coconut and palms are loaded with saturated fats and should be avoided altogether.</p>
<p>Trans-fatty acids: While most have heard of avoiding saturated fats many have not heard of the dangers of trans-fatty acids. These fats are made in the hydrogenation process that solidifies liquid oils for use in preparation of many types of food products. Trans fatty acids can play a major role in elevating bad cholesterol (LDL), which promotes clogged arteries and ultimately increases the risk of heart disease. Sources of trans fatty acids are deep fried foods, crackers, doughnuts, cookies, and stick margarine.</p>
<p>Low cholesterol diets should contain no more than 10 percent saturated fat and little or no trans fatty acids. Next why don’t we move on to a few little known ideas, along with a couple you may already know, for achieving overall success in the area of low cholesterol diets.</p>
<p>*Wash ground meat: Do what! I recently bought a package of ground turkey that was labeled 43% less fat than beef. Upon examining the label it became clear it must be being compared to a cow that had been on a butter binge for most of its life. This supposed heart healthy alternative contained 25 percent saturated fat. My answer was to cook the meat then place it in a strainer to let the liquid run off. After five minutes or so run hot water over the ground beef to get rid of any additional fat.</p>
<p>*Cool before eating: Cool soups, chili’s, and gravies to allow saturated fat to congeal on top, then simply spoon it away and reheat. Every tablespoon of fat eliminated will save 100 calories along with the excess saturated fat and cholesterol.</p>
<p>*Low fat or no fat: When given the choice, choose low fat or fat free cheese, sour cream, salad dressing, milk, and mayonnaise.</p>
<p>Skimp on the meat: Meat serving size should be lean cuts limited to a deck of playing cards. Better yet, substitute fish high in omega 3 oils such as salmon, mackerel, and albacore tuna. </p>
<p>*Learn to love olive oil and/or canola oil: Find recipes or substitute olive or canola oil instead of high saturated and trans fat options such as palm oil, lard, shortening, or butter.</p>
<p>In summary, effective low cholesterol diets don’t have to be made up of some hidden secret lost for the last ten thousand years only to be revealed today for your benefit. In fact, some of the most successful low cholesterol diets simply involve making heart healthy choices through common sense and becoming an expert label detective.</p>
